Our game is about rocket engines, artillery duels and Russian aristocrats who lost in the post-apocalyptic desert. Highfleet - a new game from the creator of Hammerfight Constantine Koshutina, ideological Hammerfight prequel.īriefly, Highfleet - FTL is a arcade aerial combat.īy setting - near "Dune" by Frank Herbert. Here’s what the Devs said about it a while back: (Translated) While it's not wrong to think that games shouldn't have to be fixed in order to become playable, it's a tad foolish to think games over a decade old won't have problems being run out of the box on modern hardware. So yeah, I think a lot of the negative reviews haven't really tried to find solutions to these perceived problems and were just content slapping a thumbs down on the game instead. The setting alone is something to behold in my opinion. It's not exactly the best story but it's an interesting one nonetheless. The story requires multiple playthroughs/notetaking to understand it in its entirety. This causes the game to accelerate all mouse movements considerably (which unfortunately includes the menu), making the game much more comfortable to play. The mouse issue is probably the easiest fix: just set the DPI setting in game to the lowest possible value. This might spur different issues but it's something that sadly has to be lived with unless you have computer from the era that the game released. The wacky physics - and resolution, even - can potentially be fixed by altering a few variables in the game's config ini. It's hard to ignore these issues, but they can all be fixed or, at least, diminished in a way that allows the game to become enjoyable.
